Scott Read
Scott graduated from Murdoch University Vet School in 1990 and has always worked in small animal practice. He particularly enjoys treating cats and dogs. Scott acquired his own small animal practice in 1992 in Mt Lawley. As the client base grew, he had to move his practice to the current purpose-built premises, now known as the Mt Lawley & Inglewood Vet Centre. Joining this practice in early 2004 was the Doubleview Vet Centre, which has its own history that dates back more than 40 years. Scott states that both of these practices stand for quality service and care, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Scott is currently the sole director of the Your Pet’s Vet Animal Hospitals group.
Scott enjoys seeing the practices’ develop and grow with the knowledge that people who cherish and look after pets and animals well are generally well balanced and good people themselves.
Scott shares his home with his wife Lyn and three kids Amy, Isabella and Dylan, along with their Maltese-Shitzu cross Ben., Minus and Neo the twin tabby and white Moggies (whom the Read kids hand reared as dumped 3 day old kittens), Ernie our stray budgie from 11 years ago and Speedy and Swanny our two goldfish.
Scott says that he has always had pets in one form or another, with most being strays that needed new homes. At one stage, his family looked after a multitude of strays, including several rabbits, quails, budgies, finches, a Pink and Grey galah and a cat! Besides pets, Scott enjoys sports immensely and follows the West Coast Eagles and is a member of the Western Force Rugby Union club.
